Nothing

We have not heard anything yet! Once you receive PA (pre-approval) you then are waiting for LOA (the big approval!). There are two phases to this wait - 1) translation and 2) in review. Once you are out of phase one you move into the review room. The average time in the review room is 4 weeks. We hit our 4 week mark yesterday but no news :( It could come tomorrow or next week or the week after. No way to know. Chinese New Year starts very soon and we are still very hopeful we will receive our LOA before CNY. That means we would "know" by next Monday/Tuesday. If no news comes by next Monday/Tuesday we anticipate having to wait another couple of weeks.

What happens after LOA? A lovely fellow adoptive mother posted a description of the LOA to TA wait....and I totally stole it!

Step 1: I800 approval (12-14 days)
Step 2: Approval sent to Nat'l Visa Center (NVC) - takes about 5 days to get there
Step 3: NVC creates document approving our visa petition. They then send our file to the US embassy in Guangzhou. This is known as being "cabled."
Step 4: When I receive paper copy of I800 approval, I contact NVC to get a PDF copy of our visa approval letter to give to our agency.
Step 5: Our agency sends this letter, our LOA and form DS-230 to their contact in China who takes it to the US Consulate in Guangzhou.
Step 6: The US Consulate issues us our Article 5 letter saying everything is in order (this takes 2 weeks)
Step 7: Our paperwork is then submitted to the CCCWA for travel approval.
Step 8: We receive Travel Approval (TA)!
!

It can be a little confusing but we are moving forward!
